In Person Seminar Funnel

Fill the room, then fill your calendar: event pages, RSVP tracking, reminders that get people there, and a follow up sequence that turns attendees into appointments.

You can't be a secret agent.

Joanna has worked a table at her local Walmart since 2018, and in person events are still one of the biggest hooks for Topflight agents. The problem is never the event. It's the follow up after it.

“You can't be a secret agent. You have to be out there doing engagement, right? Even if it's just an ice cream social, becoming known in the community is important.”

Joanna Wyckoff, founder

  4. Run the eventTeach, don't pitch. Keep the sales conversation for the appointment.
  5. Book the follow upAttendees get your booking link the same day, while you're still fresh in their mind.

Lessons from 45 events in one AEP

Joanna sat down with Steve, one of her top producers, about how he books dozens of events a season on a small budget. The short version:

  • Plan in December, book in March and April, run non Medicare socials all summer.
  • Go where other brokers are not. Grandparents are the ones taking kids to back to school night.
  • It takes at least three touches before a community says yes. Bring a donut.
  • Market yourself, not the carrier, and never wear your upline.
  • Let the community promote you in its newsletter and calendar. It's free and it works.

“Nobody's ever kicked me out when I had a donut for them, right?”

Questions about the seminar funnel

What does the seminar funnel include?

An event landing page with an RSVP form, confirmation and reminder texts, a day of reminder, and a post event booking sequence for everyone who attended. RSVPs and seat counts are tracked in your CRM.

Do seminars have to be expensive?

No. One Topflight agent booked 45 events for a single AEP for about $4,000 in total. As Joanna puts it, there is no rule that you have to serve lobster. Coffee and dessert feel less intimidating, so more people come.

Where should I hold events?

Where other brokers are not: 55 and older communities, independent living, libraries, car shows, craft fairs and back to school events. Communities with an activity calendar will often promote you for free.

What happens after the event?

Attendees go straight into a booking sequence, so the conversation you started in the room ends up on your calendar instead of in a stack of sign in sheets.
